BBC pundit gives Newcastle verdict & prediction ahead of Wolves trip – Nail on the head?

Chris Sutton has released his weekly Premier League prediction piece, explaining why he’s backing Newcastle to come away 1-0 winners at Wolves.

The BBC pundit thinks it’s a tough one to call – which I’d agree with – mentioning Wolves’ four-game unbeaten run and our injury/suspension issues heading into the game, with Sandro Tonali one of seven ruled out.

However, Sutton feels we’re defending brilliantly at the moment after four clean sheets in our last five league games. He reckons we’ll ‘withstand a bit of pressure’ and ‘bounce back’ for the defeat to Dortmund with a tight win.

Here’s what he told BBC Sport in his latest piece:

This is not an easy one to call – Wolves have put together a four-game unbeaten run and Newcastle have got a few injuries to contend with, as well as Sandro Tonali’s ban for breaching betting rules.

I like the job Gary O’Neil is doing at Molineux, but the Magpies are defending really well at the moment and that is going to hold the key here.

I am going with Newcastle to withstand a bit of pressure and bounce back from their Champions League defeat by Borussia Dortmund by nicking the points.

Sutton’s prediction: Wolves 0-1 Newcastle
