Joelinton, Almiron, Isak and Bruno all start vs Borussia Dortmund – Team news from SJP

The team sheets are out ahead of tonight’s Champions League clash at St James’ Park, where Newcastle United take on Borussia Dortmund under the lights.

Here’s the side Eddie Howe has gone with against the Bundesliga giants:

STARTING XI: Pope; Trippier, Lascelles (c), Schär, Burn; Longstaff, B.Guimarães, Joelinton; Almiron, Isak, Gordon.

SUBS: Dubravka, Karius, Dummett, Tonali, Wilson, Targett, Hall, Livramento, Murphy, Willock.

As expected, Alexander Isak leads the line, replacing Callum Wilson up top. Miguel Almiron also returns to the starting line up, coming in for Jacob Murphy down the right.

In midfield, Joelinton has been given the nod alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff, with the back five as expected, seeing Jamaal Lascelles keep his place in Sven Botman’s absence.

In other news, it’s great to see Joe Willock back on the bench after five months out, alongside Sandro Tonali.

Let’s get into them from the off and sing our hearts out. HOWAY THE LADS!
